Samsung TV Plus missing or channels gone? How to get it back

0 replies1 viewsStarted 5 hr ago

If Samsung TV Plus has vanished from your TV, or your favourite channels have disappeared, the usual causes are a region or terms setting, an out-of-date TV, a corrupted Smart Hub or a network fault. Channel changes can also be normal, as line-ups are not fixed.

Quick answer: Check your TV's region and that you have accepted Samsung's terms, install any software update, then reset Smart Hub. If only some channels are gone, the platform has probably changed its line-up.

Samsung's menu names differ between TV years, so use these as pointers.

1. Region and terms

Samsung TV Plus is tied to your TV's region and to the Samsung terms and privacy policy. If the TV is set to another country, or you declined the terms during setup, the service may be missing or show a different line-up. Look under Settings > General for region or location options, and the Smart Hub terms and privacy settings (usually in the Support or General menus). Line-ups are licensed per country, so a UK TV should show UK channels.

2. Update the software

Open Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now. Samsung TV Plus is built into the TV's software on many sets, and an older version may stop working. Very old TVs can lose support for services over time. If yours is old, check Samsung's own support information for your model.

3. Reset Smart Hub

Smart Hub is the TV's app layer. Resetting it removes your downloaded apps and signs you out, so note your logins first.

  1. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis (the path varies by year).
  2. Choose Reset Smart Hub.
  3. Enter your TV's PIN if asked, then wait for the reset to finish.
  4. Set up Smart Hub again and accept the terms.

4. Check the network

Streaming channels need a working internet connection. Test another app such as BBC iPlayer. If that fails too, restart the router and the TV, then check Settings > General > Network > Network Status. See router settings for streaming if it buffers.

5. Why do channels disappear?

FAST channels (free, ad-supported channels) are added and removed by the platform and the content owners. A channel can vanish without any fault on your TV. Our FAST channels explained guide covers why. If the channel is just gone, look for it on other free services such as Pluto TV or Plex.

If that didn't work

Note your TV model and year, the software version (Settings > Support > About This TV), your region setting, and which channels vanished. A factory reset is a last resort because it removes all your settings.

Tell us your TV model and whether the whole app or only certain channels were missing.
