Copyright and takedowns
Last updated 25 October 2026
Rights holders: send a notice through the copyright form with the details below. We aim to review notices within 2 working days and remove infringing material promptly. Members whose posts are removed are told why and can respond.
01What to include in a notice
- Your work: what you own or represent (for example, the channel, broadcast, app or text).
- Where it is on IPTV Commons: a link to each post or thread. A post's own address ends in
#pand a number. - Why it infringes: for example, it's a playlist or login giving access to your service, a link to an unauthorised stream, or text or images copied from you.
- Who you are: your full name, organisation if any, and an email address we can reply to. If you act for the rights holder, say who.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law, and that the notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorised to act for them. The form asks you to confirm this; typing your full name counts as your signature.
The fastest route is the copyright form. Members can also use Report on a post and choose “Sharing playlists, logins or pirated content”.
02What happens next
- We review the notice and remove or disable access to material that appears to infringe. Incomplete notices may take longer; we'll ask for what's missing.
- We tell the member who posted it that it was removed and why. We don't pass on your email address, but we may share your name and the nature of the claim.
- Members who repeatedly post infringing material have their accounts suspended or closed.
- We may publish or share notices with the authorities where the law requires.
03If your post was removed
If you think your post was removed by mistake (for example, it was about a legitimate app, or you own what you posted), use the appeal form. Explain why it doesn't infringe, and include your name and a statement that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake. We'll review it, may share your response with the person who sent the notice, and will restore the post if we agree.
04Misuse
Please don't send notices for material you don't own or that is plainly lawful (such as a discussion of how an app works). Knowingly false notices may be ignored and can expose you to legal liability.
